:: Young Designers Association Studio (FISE/SYDA)

The exhibition of works by the Young Designers Association Studio from Hungary (FISE/SYDA) will feature a wide selection of contemporary Hungarian design, consisting of small pieces of furniture, glass and ceramics.  Modern design in Hungary is in its character quite traditional. This year, Mikser festival is envisioned as a regional festival of creativity and innovation with a unique “mixture” of contents, which promote Belgrade, and the Balkans as a leading area of this part of Europe. Festival targets the professionals but also general public, mostly younger population. It takes place from the 25th – 29th of May, at the banks of Danube, lower Dorcol, at Zitomlin space. :: NIGHT OF MUSEUMS :: Broadcast of lectures by architect Ranko Radović

Just like previous years, O3ONE is going to take part in the Museum Night event. This year, which is seventh consecutive year the visitors will have an opportunity to see two programmes.  One of the segments is the hommage to the famous architect Ranko Radović, presented with the broadcast of two of his lectures, „Sydney Opera“ and „Park Lavilet“. :: Bauhaus and Belgrade – a contradiction of radical modernity, Architecture week, BINA 2010

The influence ideas of the Bauhaus had on Serbian architecture, art and design between the two World wars, are the subject of this lecture. Works by students from the time of the Kingdom of Jugoslavija will be presented, with the emphasis on the interest that Bauhaus generated which is clearly visible on the pages of the avant-garde magazine ‘Zenit’, published  at the time in Belgrade and Zagreb. Misko Suvakovic presents the relationship towards Bauhaus that Hungarian avant-garde artists from Vojvodina had during the twenties, the influence Bauhaus had on the great architect Nikola Dobrović and on the architecture of Belgrade and Serbia, and on design and visual art after the Second World War. :: Fifth Belgrade International Week of Architecture V BINA 2010, Bauhaus architecture
:: 7th – 15th May 2010 > opening at 5.30pm

The exhibition consists of 54 photographs which show the passing of time imprinted outside and inside of the buildings of the Bauhaus architecture, the marks left by their constructors and those who lived in them.
The photographs present the period that spans from the first experiment during the twenties of the last century, the time of power and repressive politics of the national-socialist party, to the period of the GDR, which nurtured the policy of neglect and ignored this particular architectural style.
This exhibition and the book that’s being published alongside it, aims to document what was forgotten and enable the public to see the Bauhaus architecture which was for many years overlooked and disregarded not only in the East Germany but in the West Germany as well. Read the rest of this entry »
